Matthew & Oak is the new solo project of Matthew Melamed, a self taught multi instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer who has been making music since childhood.

After releasing early indie folk recordings under his full name in 2013, he now returns with a new chapter shaped by years of writing, guitar, piano, and self production.

Rooted in lo fi indie folk, the project blends ambient textures, baroque pop, rock, and other unexpected influences into a sound that feels intimate, textured, and quietly expansive.

Inspired by artists like Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead, Bon Iver, Elliott Smith, Arctic Monkeys, and Mac DeMarco, Matthew & Oak is drawn to the small moments, hard questions, and emotional undercurrents that shape a life.

The debut single, “Don’t Break,” opens the door to that world.
